The Homestead Portrait line of art was created to capture the beauty of Gaston County's agricultural farmland and homsteads.   Major changes in Gaston County have led to many of these properties being sold and redeveloped.  My goal is to perserve the character of these Homesteads and Farms through color and canvas.

This is an original oil painting done on canvas (12" x 24").  The subject is an old barn built with old stone block.  The tall silage tower makes an interesting subject in the painting as well.  I caught the scene at dusk and hope you enjoy seeing it through my eyes.

This is an original oil painting done on a 9" x 12" canvas board.  This is a picture of an old homestead under a grove of oak trees.  I left the sky and field uncluttered with detail to emphasize the simple life 100 years ago.  The cobalt blue sky reflects the spring season and almost backlights the old house.

This is an original oil painting done on a stretched 6"x 8" canvas board.  The house is an old brick house that was part of a Saddlebred Farm.  The old barn still sits behind the house while the old arena still sits in front of the house.  I captured the late afternoon light on the house which makes the bricks glow.  This is a small painting with a lot of color!

Here is an original oil painting done of a local barn at sunrise.  This is done on a  9" x 12" canvas board and is signed ready to be framed.  Note the freshness of the spring grass and the cool feeling of the shadows.  Everyday should be greeted like this!

These are pricing guidelines ONLY.   Price is determined by several factors (amounnt of objects, detail, etc).  Framing is also available at an extra cost.  These make great gifts, but keep in mind that an oil painting takes months to dry.
